I'd try CCLEANER it's free and works good. Might not be what's causing your BSOD but it's worth a try. The reg cleaner removes all parts of any old drivers files etc. I did every steps except the "reg cleaner" part, can you please explain if it's important and what it is? The game worked just fine last month when I tried it for a couple hours, now I completed another game and want to play Risen but I can't. I can load the game now but I get the blue screen of death whenever I click either continue, settings, quit. Originally posted by Soma:It didn't work for me. Now close the game, and SAVE the settings for compatibility. Find the actuall Risen.exe file (NOT THE SHORT CUT ON YOUR DESKTOP) and right click and select, "Troubleshoot Compatibility" use the suggest settings, and RUN the game. There is almost always 1 file it didn't install when you first installed it that it needs.Ĥ.Now, go to your STEAM folder, SteamApps, Common, and open RISEN folder, then click on the BIN folder. Once installed do a game file verification. Go here and download the latest PhysX software and install it. Fully Uninstall your PhysX software, use a reg cleaner, and then reboot.Ģ. So here's the FIX for both the PhysX and Windows compatibility Issues.ġ. After fixing that, the game just wouldn't launch at all. When I tried to launch Risen I would get the Risen image and then a screen would come up saying I had a FATAL error with the PhysX SDK. Alright everyone I have the FIX! I posted here a few days ago asking for help and didn't get any, so I went digging and found the answer!įirst, I'm running Windows 7 64 bit, and RISEN is NOT supported under Windows 7.
